Minor Cuts and Scrapes

  1. CLEAN the wound and surrounding area gently with a cleansing wipe or rinse thoroughly with soap and water. Remove any visible, accessible debris from wound with tweezers.
  2. TREAT the wound with antibiotic ointment to help protect against infection
  3. PROTECT the wound with an adhesive bandage to absorb fluids and help keep out dirt and germs.

Minor Burns

  1. CLEAN minor burns by immersing the burn in cool water or apply cool, wet cloths.
  2. TREAT the burn by applying a small amount of antibiotic ointment to the affected area.
  3. PROTECT the burn by applying a dressing that will not stick to burn area.

Sprains and Strains

  1. LOOSEN or remove clothing and elevate injured body part.
  2. PROTECT the skin with thin towel or cloth.
  3. APPLY cold, wet compresses or cold packs to affected area.
